a D&D London restaurant
Lukas joined Sartoria in autumn 2010. His cooking style is classic and contemporary Italian cooking. He pays tribute to his grandmother for teaching him to cook, and his uncle for his decision to become a chef, when he worked in the family hotel as a teenager.
Educated in his homeland, Germany, Lukas trained as a saucier in 1986 for three years, learning classic French techniques in the Michelin-starred Parkhotel Wehrle in the Black Forest.
As a young chef, Lukas gained experience in many top international hotels and restaurants throughout Germany before moving to London to join Marco Pierre White as his chef de partie at three Michelin-starred The Restaurant, in 1994. Following this, Lukas joined the private catering arm of Mosimann's, London.
In 1994, Lukas wanted to focus on his love for Italian cooking and for the past 11 years, before he joined Sartoria, he was the Head Chef at Il Convivio, a fine-dining, modern Italian restaurant in London's Belgravia.
